Smoothbore Anesthesia Breathing Circuit

In airway management, clinicians and respiratory therapists often focus on two core questions: How to optimize ventilation efficiency? How to minimize the incidence of VAP? While our previous article on circuit flexibility addressed part of these concerns, another key solution lies within the inner wall of the circuit. Today, we present the Unids Smoothbore Anesthesia Breathing Circuit.

  • Optimized Fluid Dynamics, Significantly Reduces Respiratory Resistance

The smooth inner wall greatly reduces friction between airflow and the tube wall, enabling more precise delivery of preset tidal volumes to the patient’s lungs under equivalent conditions, thereby significantly improving airflow efficiency. The airflow resistance of the Unids circuit is ≤0.2 kPa. Reduced flow resistance provides more stable and accurate airflow signals to the ventilator’s flow sensor components, enhancing the reliability of ventilator monitoring data.Low-resistance circuits decrease the work of breathing and reduce ventilator-induced fatigue during spontaneous breathing modes, facilitating weaning.

  • Reduces Condensate Retention, Lowers VAP Risk

The smooth inner wall prevents condensate from adhering to the tubing, allowing it to flow more efficiently into the water trap. This is particularly beneficial during positional changes in clinical settings or during prolonged surgical procedures, significantly minimizing the risk of VAP.

  • Spiral Reinforcement Structure, Resistant to Kinking and Crushing

The spiral reinforcement design prevents twisting and kinking of the circuit. With excellent flexibility and support, the circuit resists compression and crushing, maintaining a stable airflow pathway during clinical maneuvers and patient movement. The tube strength of Undis’TPE smoothbore circuits is ≥80N for adults, while PVC smoothbore circuits offer a strength of ≥50N.

  • Medical-Grade Materials, High Biocompatibility

Undis uses medical-grade polymer materials, TPE and PVC, which are transparent and soft. For TPE smoothbore circuits, we implement strict quality control across different patient groups (adult, pediatric, infant) and usage durations (disposable, reusable).

As a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, production, sales, and service in medical devices, our products are manufactured in strict compliance with formulated processes, with quality directly overseen by our dedicated quality department.

  • Disposable Design, Ensures Sterility

As a disposable consumable, Undis circuits are packaged sterile in a 100,000-class cleanroom . Disposable Anesthesia Breathing Circuit eliminate the need for post-use disinfection required with reusable circuits and prevent potential aging issues associated with long-term use.
