Anesthesia Circuit Solutions: Coaxial & Duo-limb

Anesthesia Circuit Solutions: Coaxial & Duo-limb

In the clinical surgical environment, the anesthesia machine is a high-risk life-support device used to deliver various gases and volatile anesthetics, as well as to control and assist patient breathing. The anesthesia circuit is a critical functional unit and an essential component of the anesthesia machine. Undis will analyze integrated and efficient coaxial circuits alongside classic and reliable duo-limb circuits from various product dimensions to address different clinical scenarios and needs.

Coaxial  Circuit

  • Efficient and Stable Gas Delivery

Coaxial circuit adopts a "double-lumen coaxial" structure, allowing patients to receive warmer and more humidified gases compared to conventional breathing circuits. Undis coaxial circuits incorporate a gas sampling port design for respiratory gas monitoring, enabling anesthesiologists to better monitor the patient’s breathing. This significantly enhances the efficiency and stability of gas exchange during anesthesia, resulting in smoother anesthetic states and reduced surgical risks.

  • Low-Resistance Smooth Breathing

The outer tube of the Undis adult coaxial circuit has a diameter of 31mm, minimizing the resistance encountered by exhaled waste gases in the outer tube. During the passive ventilation phase of spontaneous breathing, patients do not experience additional resistance.

  • Excellent Heat and Moisture Preservation

The unique coaxial design allows the heat and moisture carried by exhaled gases in the outer exhalation tube to pre-warm and humidify the fresh gases in the inner inhalation tube. This ensures that the inhaled gases are close to the temperature and humidity levels of the physiological human state.

  • High-Quality Materials and Safety

Undis uses medical-grade PP and EVA materials to ensure biocompatibility and ease of shaping. The tube connectors feature a standard taper design for leak-proof and secure connections, eliminating medical risks. Undis operates in a Class 100,000 cleanroom environment and sterilizes all anesthesia circuits using ethylene oxide, meeting high medical-grade standards.

Duo-limb  Circuit

  • Efficient and Accurate Gas Delivery

Duo-limb circuit uses a double-lumen design that strictly separates the inhalation and exhalation channels. The inhalation lumen delivers fresh anesthetic gas accurately and stably, while the exhalation lumen quickly removes waste gas, effectively preventing gas mixing and interference. This makes gas exchange during anesthesia more efficient and ensures stable patient breathing. Undis duo-limb cicruit also include a gas sampling port for respiratory gas monitoring, expanding the anesthesiologist’s monitoring capability and enhancing surgical safety.

  • Outstanding Temperature and Humidity Regulation

The dual-lumen design reduces compliance, making it suitable for ultra-low flow anesthesia care. It improves gas flow dynamics and fully utilizes the residual heat of exhaled gases to warm the inhaled gases, making the temperature of the inhaled gas more suitable for the human body.

Both types effectively avoid irritation and damage to the respiratory mucosa caused by inhaling dry and cold gases, improving patient comfort and reducing the incidence of postoperative respiratory complications.

  • Versatile Tube Layout

Undis considers the requirements of different surgical positions (left/right lateral decubitus, prone, etc.) and varying surgical durations. The retractable side tube design, combined with the inherent flexibility and kink resistance of the tubes, meets clinical needs. The two-in-one tube design avoids tangling during surgery, provides more operational space, and enhances surgical safety and efficiency.

Undis coaxial circuits feature a blue inner tube and white outer tube design, while duo-limb circiuits use the signature Undis blue theme, aligning with hospital environmental aesthetics. Undis offers coaxial and Duo-limb circuits in various lengths and specifications to meet diverse clinical needs, compatible with most mainstream clinical equipment, and has received positive feedback from numerous anesthesiologists both domestically and internationally.
